The Moon

THE stars about the lovely moon
Fade back and vanish very soon,
When, round and full, her silver face
Swims into sight, and lights all space

Sappho's best work is done when she gives tribute to the moon.

Ooh, this creates a very pretty picture, I can see the moon shining bright. It is so weird to think that the moon shining down on me long ago shined on Sappho and inspired her to write these beautiful lines.

A pretty poem, short but the descriptions, while in a sort of simplistic and simply-written style, seemed to fit the poem itself...a short poem, true, but definitely a very nice write.

This is pretty. I like the description of the moon by using the phrase 'her silver face.'
