At the Lake Pavilion

Small barge go to meet honoured guest
Leisurely lake on come
At railing face cup alcohol
On all sides lotus bloom

On a skiff I meet an honoured guest,
Slowly, slowly, it comes across the lake.
Facing at the railing, we drink a cup of wine,
On all sides, lotus flowers are in bloom.

I decided to do some exploring. I like the format of this with the literal translation and then the "interpretation"
I like the flowers as flowers as well.

This poem shows how people can wait for a long time
    in peace
    for things that are pleasant.

    beautifully put.

If indeed the lotus flowers are people it is an excellent metaphor, although I'd much rather let them be flowers. No one around but the sounds of nature...

It must be a meeting of highly running emotions when even nature dresses for the occation.
