A Green Stream.

I have sailed the River of Yellow Flowers,
Borne by the channel of a green stream,
Rounding ten thousand turns through the mountains
On a journey of less than thirty miles….
Rapids hum over heaped rocks;
But where light grows dim in the thick pines,
The surface of an inlet sways with nut-horns
And weeds are lush along the banks.
…Down in my heart I have always been as pure
As this limpid water is….
Oh, to remain on a broad flat rock
And to cast a fishing-line forever!

Poetic as anything can possible be. I truly love these kinds of poems, such positive and descriptive words used to describe a simple yet lovely scene. Very nice job

so often our feelings are shown in negativity, poetry for me is a release and thats how many of my poems end up, though since i found an incredible boyfriend the positive words have been flowing for me, but i just have to say that you do a great job at descriptive words that bring beautiful imagery to my head, good write! keep it up!

    Beautiful!

I love to go fishing, and the sheer wonder in it all is the splendor of the pituresque finality of the scenery that surrounds me while I am in the small boat. This poem takes me to that wonderment, and I understand the beauty in this writng. Thank you for the introduction to Mr. Wei's inner eye.

    Much Love,
    Renee

Quite a wonderful journey Mr Wei takes the reader on here. A 30 mile trip that could last a lifetime.
His descriptive ability is superb and it woould be such a waste to read this quickly - one would miss the scenery he painted.
Beautiful work - wonderful find Andrew

"Rapids hum" - oh to have thought of that myself.

What I love about this poetry is that although it has been written such a long time ago, it could have been written yesterday. I try to imagine a person during that age, standing by the stream and writing this.

I cannot help but echo the poet's words. The scenery is brought alive before my eyes. It's as if i am looking at a painting.

Wonderful connection between soul and Nature ... Typical of all Eastern poetry, is the philosophical and simplistic message between the lines ... Here the identification with the purity of the stream ...

Thank you for sharing Wang Wei's work.

This is soothing and fills like a spring night on the lake. Not wanting the sun to rise and chase away the moon.

    lovely
