On Rupert Brooke

A young Apollo, golden-haired,
Stands dreaming on the verge of strife,
Magnificently unprepared
For the long littleness of life.

He was only 28 when killed during WW1. This short poem is almost phrophetic as Frances makes comment on the 'long littleness of life'
