When a man is in love
how can he use old words?
Should a woman
desiring her lover
lie down with
grammarians and linguists?

I said nothing
to the woman I loved
but gathered
love's adjectives into a suitcase
and fled from all languages.

    Great

This is a classic piece. It reminds me a poem, Never seek to tell thy love by William Blake.

"I told my love, I told my love,
I told her all my heart,
    Trembling, cold, in ghastly fears--
    Ah, she doth depart."
I love the way qabbani has beautified this idea.

So true... love is new and exciting, and old words don't seem to do the trick sometimes. But there are a few poems out there that fit, methinks.

    Renrkable Poetry

    I was roving the web
Searching for Grammars and new Vocab

    To express my love
    To my beloved

I read your poem and it gave me hope
I asked myself… Shall continue or shall I stop?

Your poems are Treasures for me
Your words are Gifts to me

    Thank you…

Let your heart do the talking, the words will be written on the canvas of the eyes.

Qabbani's stuff is always very interesting.
