Having Seen Them Long

Having seen them long,
I hold the flowers so dear
That when they scatter
I find it all the more sad
To bid them my last farewell.

Beautifully sad...feels tanka-like. Goodbye is indeed the saddest song.

Such a short piece, that has such a solemn read to it, and a solemn feel to it I perceive as well.

It's like an ending to a beginning that has an ending that is seen before it even begins.

I don't know, excellent piece with so few words, but it said a lot.
If I could applaud it - I would.

IT is a sad time when you have to rid yourself of once beautiful living flowers because their time has passed. A way of all life. Very profound write...especially with such few words.

Were they given by someone else, or the last of the season that would end?

A very moving piece and one which could easily represent many aspects of life and passing onward.
