A secret it is, but
When I feel love rise,
From leg wearying
Mountains, the moon
Sets out, and so do I.

Interesting use of the word secret. Could suggest that the writer hides the fact that he finds the whole process of loving a weary one, that it is a long trek, emphasised by being taken in moonlight as opposed to sunlight.

I find this piece to be a bit queer in a way. It's just so strange I feel, maybe it's the translation, who knows?
I understand, I feel, the 'leg wearying Mountains' part, the journey it takes one 'man' to get to his love, and it takes a journey to get there, and the 'moon' will follow in the nights as the sun will follow in the days.
I find it to mean a journey to find one's love.
A good piece by Tsurayuki.
