The Wait

It seemed
like years
before
I picked
a bouquet
of kisses
off her mouth
and put them
into a dawn-colored vase
in
my
heart.

But
the wait
was worth it.

Because
I
was
in love.

I think that this poem means to the author that if you love someone so much in the end it’s worth waiting for. What it means to me is that love takes time and that you should never give up, because in the end it is rewarding. It made me feel happy, because hopefully one day I can experience that feeling that is so rewarding in the end. Overall the author did a good job although it was short and simple.
