In The Depths Of Solitude

i exist in the depths of solitude
pondering my true goal
trying 2 find peace of mind
and still preserve my soul
constantly yearning 2 be accepted
and from all receive respect
never comprising but sometimes risky
and that is my only regret

a young heart with an old soul
how can there be peace
how can i be in the depths of solitude
when there r 2 inside of me
this duo within me causes
the perfect oppurtunity
2 learn and live twice as fast
as those who accept simplicity

yeah, he is saying that there are two sides of him which are the source of his anxiety. The side that yearns for peace of mind and the "never comprising but sometimes risky" side which is more troublesome. These sides of him clash and make him consider the simplicity of most people's life compared to his own more thoughful existence.

    i love this

    From guest twinn (contact)
i love this poem because i think tupac is stating is, he exist in a quite and lonely place trying to find the peace of his mind, but still keep his soul saved. He is yearning to be accepted so that he wont be lonely and be respected, but when he thinks about it he regrets it. Why? i dont know. But then in the second stanza he is stating, how is he possible alone when there are two people inside of me? This should give me (tupac) a chance to learn fastly and live longer, as the other who accept simplicity.

    In the Depths of Solitude

    From guest Sincere (contact)
Tupac was the most inciteful rapper/poet that I have ever heard. It is hard to believe that he is gone and ye his music lives on. This poem was the one to inspire me to write my own poetry.

Il admit I was a little sceptical of tupac to begin with (seeing as most of the people I know only see him and paint him with the brush of gangster rap) but upon looking at some of his work I’ve found a new more enlightened look on him he was an artist foremost and seems to be an urban Mahat Magandi

Its hard to grasp the fact that someone like tupac isn't alive. He is an example for everyone, that no matter who you are never give up and you will reach the top.rip

    in the depths of solitude

    From guest felicia (contact)
livieing in this ghetto knowing if ur not gonna be here tomarrow always feling as if u see the reeper himself is what we go thru feelings of haterd, frustration , and constant fear of what tomarrow mite bring we have no body that listens we have no body that hears what we say. tupac was ther to assure it wouldnt last forever to tell us there would be a better day in the future we juss had to await it and when it came it would be that much better. he hears us cry he knows our struggle. tho we have this loneliness within he always gave us strength . he is the only one that ever heard our voice lived our life and told the world about it... I have madd respect and love for tupac he changed so many lives without even knowing and he will continue to change the world in the smallest way yet with the biggest impack.

    R.I.P TUPAC SHAKUR

    From guest EBENEZER (contact)
R.I.P TUPAC if u read inbetween the lines u will understand wat 2pac is tryin to say of course he was a young heart with a old soul, he was a person dat was way ahead of hes time and wen u are ahead of u time, u do wonder wat ur true goal in life is. and tupac fought to be accepted mostly by people who rejected him the most and if u dnt like him u had to RESPECT HIM. IS THE WILD OUTRAGEOURS PAC AND THE SWEET LOVE PAC DAT MADE HIM ALMOST THE PERFECT PERSON AND ALSO MADE HIM LEARN AND LIVED TWICE AS FAST.

This poem sounds like a battle between good and evil within a person. The young heart with an old soul plays on the thoughts that we as people are able to contradict ourselves.

That last line has always been a part of my writing from high school to now. I remember being in 11th grade English III and watching his Dear Mama music video before Class and that last line reminds me of that, and what I've carried forward with me even through all the turmoil I have been through before that day and after that day.

An inspiring piece, a good piece that 2pac has written here.
