Can You See The Pride In The Panther?

Can You See the Pride In the Panther
As he grows in splendor and grace
Topling obstacles placed in the way,
of the progression of his race.

Can You See the Pride In the Panther
as she nurtures her young all alone
The seed must grow regardless
of the fact that it is planted in stone.

Can You See the Pride In the Panthers
as they unify as one.
The flower blooms with brilliance,
and outshines the rays of the sun.

    Puzzling at first

I thought the couplet with the lines 7 and 8 were out of context, until I read lines 11 and 12 which then all made sense.

This is my favorite piece of work by Tupac Shakur. In this piece he is basically talking about the unity involved with the Black panthers. Tupac felts that the panthers had plenty of pride and wanted all people to be unified. The emotion and realness inside this poem is amazing. Tupac Shakur was way more than a common "thug". Tupac was a visionary, not only trying to help blacks but all people elevate and erase the hate all over the world.
What some people failed to realize about Tupac is that he was not being a "hoodlum" by rapping about the things that he witnessed in his lifetime. All he wanted was to tell the stories of how some people live in wealth and others live in complete and desolate poverty. By telling these stories, he hoped that the government would come in and fix that promlem and not try to put a censor on his creativity.
Thank you for the years of music, poetry, and inspiration. May your music live on forever.

I know, he's talking about the Panther Movement that his mother was a member of, which I stated loosely; I just took a different meaning from it, another outlook, perception, visuality etc.,

Panthers are wild in Florida and protected as well. I once as a child saw a panther briefly while sittin' in the backseat of my parents' car as they were driving us to a relatives home.

This piece sort of reminds me of that, but I know as well that 2pac isn't actually or just referring to actual Panthers but 'us' ourselves.

A great piece that 2pac has written here.
