  MOD MESSAGE
  We don't understand how you relate these verses in support of your claim. Sorry this is not what you can call a proof. The last line of the above stanza though reads that there had been an extension of the poetic fame but this is, again just an admiration of his work. Moreover, reading the first stanza;

  (ELEGY)

  Dear readers and lovers of Mir Anees.
  
  The word (Elegy) is the meaning of marsiya in english. But i came to know in a book called (Hindustani Adab Ke Meymaar, Mir Anees) author is Mr. Ali Jawad Zaidi. The person who is having authority n Aneesiyaat, said before Mir Anees the meanig marsiya in english called (Elegy) that only covers tragedy and sad tales, it does not cover the style of marsiyas which mir anees use to write. Therefore, there is one word called (Elegiac Epic) which covers war, sword, horse and all the other subjects which Mir Anees mostly use in his marsiyas. In the end, i want to write one stanza of his famous marsiya, which covers the above topic.
  
  Namake khaan e takalum hai fasahat meri
  Nattekhe band hain sun sun ke balagat meri
  Rang udte hain wo rangein hai ibarat meri
  Shor jis ka hai wo darya hai tabiyat meri
  Umr guzri hai issi dasht ki sayahi mein
  Panchwi pusht hai shabbir ki madahi mein

  We all know that this marsiya is divided into two parts, karbala part I and II. With due respect to Mr Ahkam, the right word for the marsiya is called elegy not poem or sad poem. There was one whole line is missing in the middle of marsiya starting" naagah badhey alam liye abbas se bawafa'. Please add in the line if any reader knows the above couplets in karbala part I.

  People who are contributing to this site in which ever way must do so in a fitting manners. Incomplete poetry of a renowned poet like Anees ( quran e sukhan ) is a huge disappointment to the anchoring readers of this site. Irfan.

  History Behind This Marsiya

  Salam'alaikum Hazarat! I had heard a story about this Marsiya and would like to share it with everybody else. In the Majlis, where Mir Anees sahab recited this Marsiya - it so happened that the organizer of the Majlis invited Mirza Dabeer sahab as well. Mirza Dabeer sahab recited his new marsiya first. That marsiya was the most famous of his works: KIS SHER KI AMAD HAI KE RAN KAAP RAHA HAI Mir Anees sahab was prepared to recite a different marsiya in that majlis. There was a break between the recital of Mirza Dabeer and before Mir Aneed recital. During the break Mir Anees sahab asked the organizer of the Majlis to provide him a room and asked that he should not be disturbed during that hour-long break. It is said that Mir Anees sahab said the above Marsiya during that break and read in that Majlis. Imagine that majlis where the two famous poets recited their two best marsiya of their life-time. May Allah, for the sake of Ahl-al-Bayt (a.s.), elevate the levels of Mir Anees and Mirza Dabeer - Ameen! Iltemas-e-Dua!

  mujhe jahan bhi sarkare anees ka kalaam nazar se guzarta hai ya on ke talluq se kuch sonne milta hai tu ankhon me ansoo aajate hain wo is liye ke dil jazbaat se bekhaboo hojata hai dar asal mir anees ko jo maqaam milna tha wo zameen se nahi aasamaan se mila jab ke hum zameen par baste hain saher ludhyanvi ne kaha tha ke (ye basti hai murda paraston ki basti) magar anees ke mamle me dunya murda parasti bhi nahi dikhae khaer bahes taweel hai bahar haal mai bahut mahezooz howa ke chalo koi tu hai jo anees ke kalaam ko mazar e aam lana chata hai mai apne tahe dil se on ki qadar karta hon jo sar kare anees ki qadr karte hain meri duwaen aap ke saat hain is silsile ko aage badate jaeye waise khod anees ne hi kaha tha ke -
  subok ho chali thi tarazo e sher
  magar hum ne palla giran kardiya
  
  meri qadr kar aae zameen e sukhan
  tujhe baat me aasman kardiya
  
  nawa sajiyon ne teri aae anees
  har ek zaakh ko khos bayan kardiya

  garmiye guftar ko harkaat ko raftaar ko
  aae musawwer tu lakhiron me samo sakta nahi
  
  nazm hai ya hain dur e shaewar ki ladyan anees
  joihari bhi is tarhan moti pirosakta nahi
  
  (dunya ki kisi zabaan ne mir anees jaisa shaer paida nahi kiya)
  
  roman english me waise sahi talaffuz ada nahi hota bahar haal majbori hai ( ye ek tabassum bhi kise milta hai )
  Ek jumla aur ( mir anees tareef me chashme ko samandar se milate the, ye meri kam ilmi hai mai mir anees jaise samandar ki tareef me ek qatra bhi istemal nahi karsaka.

  well, one thing I want to correct here is that Khuda-e-Sukhan(god of poetry) is the title of Meer Taqi Meer and it is never used for any other poet afterwords.

  mir anees was ultimately a great marsia khan i admire his great sense of marsias of imam husain .may his soul find the place at the feet of imam.
