Fog

THE fog comes
on little cat feet.

It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

  • A composer names Kocsar made this poem and 5 other Carl Sandburg poems into a song cycle. This was one of the more beautiful pieces in the cycle. Check it out if you're into choral music.

This poem by Carl Sandburg is one of the well known ones. I'm doing a project on him in FMS. If any one has any info just send me a message. =)

one can almost 'see' the cat as it saches into town, looking in corners, smelling it's way across the city. sitting, watching and waiting before it moves on for juicier pickings. - a 6-line corker of a poem.

I learnt this little poem as a child...strangely enough it's little cat feet still stray across my mind from time to time...

I like the fog. Even when driving, but only in the early brisk morning when the fog makes the air feel cool and serene. If out to see I don't reckon it's lovely. But on an early morning on land I feel it is.
    a lovely piece by Sandburg.
