I never hear the word

I never hear the word "escape"
Without a quicker blood,
A sudden expectation,
A flying attitude.

I never hear of prisons broad
By soldiers battered down,
But I tug childish at my bars, —
Only to fail again!

First stanza- The word 'escape' gives her a rush of blood, a sudden expectation and an attitude of freedom.
Second stanza- She has never heard of bigger prisons from by soldiers persecuted. But she stood childishly behind her bars (locked room of her home) and failed in her escape attempt.

Seems sort of like: retribution -- or sorts. I don't know, gave me the imave of a soldier and the imprisonment they feel during war and well in prison.

I feel she rhymed here but I feel it's quite loose.

i love how someone who was born over a hundred years ago can match exactly what i feel at this moment...not by purpose im sure...i love this...the emotion in this...the frustration at not being free...wonderful!
