I never hear the word "escape"
Without a quicker blood,
A sudden expectation,
A flying attitude.
I never hear of prisons broad
By soldiers battered down,
But I tug childish at my bars, —
Only to fail again!

First stanza- The word 'escape' gives her a rush of blood, a sudden expectation and an attitude of freedom.
Second stanza- She has never heard of bigger prisons from by soldiers persecuted. But she stood childishly behind her bars (locked room of her home) and failed in her escape attempt. -
Seems sort of like: retribution -- or sorts. I don't know, gave me the imave of a soldier and the imprisonment they feel during war and well in prison.
I feel she rhymed here but I feel it's quite loose.

i love how someone who was born over a hundred years ago can match exactly what i feel at this moment...not by purpose im sure...i love this...the emotion in this...the frustration at not being free...wonderful!
