Weeping

Weeping,
I go down the street
Grotesque, without solution
With the sadness of Cyrano
And Quixote.

Redeeming
Infinite impossibilities
With the rhythm of the clock.

This is a short poem that manages to pack meaning with the employment of two major literary figures, Cyrano and Quixote. Sorrow--yes. Of what? Um, there are levels to this: lost love, time, lack of youth, finding meaning in life yet being "grotesque" and "solution"less in method or means and the implied element of dreams (the Quixote reference). An easy poem to memorize. Worth reading out loud to hear and feel the words. This would make a beautiful painting or go nicely with a photograph. Each stanze is a gem that stands on its own.
