Couplet 1

Farsi Couplet:
Naala-e zanjeer-e Majnun arghanoon-e aashiqanast
Zauq-e aan andaza-e gosh-e ulul-albaab neest


English Translation:
The creaking of the chain of Majnun is the orchestra of the lovers,
To appreciate its music is quite beyond the ears of the wise.

    Beautiful

    This is a very sweet verse. The couplet is about the lovers’ attitude towards the story of the famous love of Majnu. He is considered to be an outstanding lover who sacrifices his life in love. Still the love story of Laila Majnu is read and sung in different pars of the world with great celebration. Such love stories are considered to be the primary spiritual lessons for the lovers of all generations to come. Laila Majnu is originally an Arabic folk tale.
