Wild Roses

Wild roses,
Plucked from fields
Full of croaking frogs:
Float them in  your wine
And enjoy every minute!

This is marvellous! In just a few words he has stimulated and heightened the senses to an intoxicating degree, it does however require some familiarity with the image to really appreciate it fully. I lived in the East as a child and also spent a memorable evening in Cyprus where the sound of frogs croaking at night, especially if accompanied by crickets, is the most wonderful sound.
Wild roses would be of the dog rose variety and may possibly have the ability to add something to the wine as adding borage leaves to cider has an uplifting effect on the mood and taste. The essence of simplicity!

The fields of course are full of croaking frogs not the rose - I think I've cleared that up

Floating roses in wine = perhaps not but I think i know what he attempting to get across. Make the best of life using the earth's natural resources.
