In The Morning

In the morning, bowing to all;
In the evening, bowing to all.
Respecting others is my only duty--
Hail to the Never-despising Bodhisattva.

In heaven and earth he stands alone.

A real monk
Needs
Only one thing--
a heart like
Never-despising Buddha.

    There is a vulnerability to this man, a sense of self doubt. He talks of his duty almost with a sense of irony and the loneliness echoes through the words. The duties and astheticism of his life is too harsh, comparing himself with the Buddha he senses his own failings.

    Hail to the Never-despising Bodhisattva.

    In heaven and earth he stands alone.

    I feel that he feels the needs to aspire to the lofty heights of Buddha to be a real monk. I don't agree with him as i feel his simplistic outlook on life is an inspiration in itself.
