Mystic Silence

From each, Love demands a mystic silence.
What do all seek so earnestly? Tis Love.
Love is the subject of their inmost thoughts,
In Love no longer "Thou" and "I" exist,
For self has passed away in the Beloved.
Now will I draw aside the veil from Love,
And in the temple of mine inmost soul
Behold the Friend, Incomparable Love.
He who would know the secret of both worlds
Will find that the secret of them both is Love.

    This is beautiful and speaks not only of the love between lovers, but the love that should be between all persons; for, if we truly love, there is not one we do not love, and so, there is no 'you' and 'I' or 'us' and 'them'...there is only ONE...Peace, Rhonda

    beautiful

    Thou and I exist when there is lust not love, the sign of true love is the union of two souls.'He who would know the secret of both worlds
    Will find that the secret of them both is Love'
    what a beautiful piece of poetry. I remember an other beautiful verse by Attar, in persian it reads;
    'Badahy Attar Ra Yik Boosa B Zar
    K Zar darum Wali Chanda'N na Darum'
    In English;
    Let Attar Kiss you without any charge(Free of cost),
    Though I (Attar) am a wealthy man yet I havent got enough to pay the price of your single Kiss'
