The Dream Keeper

Bring me all of your dreams,
You dreamer,
Bring me all your
Heart melodies
That I may wrap them
In a blue cloud-cloth
Away from the too-rough fingers
Of the world.

    So Wonderful

Too many dreams are never realized because of the
rough/nasty reaction of 'the world' & those who inhabit
    it

I too wonder if it was one of the poems he thought of on his way to work, while he saw the society that his Grandmother and his cousins so hated. The Blues ran through this man's veins like water through a stream, he is eloquent and gets the point across in a sweet lyrical sort of way.

This was truly interesting. Short, but sweet nevertheless. This poem causes one to think reflectivly on dreams. I wonder myself how much time it took to write this particular piece.

Langston Huges is an interesting black poet of the last century...I have enjoyed his work, including "Dream Variations (To Fling My Arms...)" and "Dream Deferred" and "I too Sing America"
