Children's Rhymes

By what sends
The white kids
I ain't sent:
I know I can't
Be President.
What don't bug
Them white kids
Sure bugs me:
We know everybody
Ain't free.

Lies written down
For white folks
Ain't for us a-tall:
Liberty And Justice;
Huh! For All?

I have to say. This poem really leaves you thinking. It's so true. Take the election of President Obama, for example. Emotional poem. Mari

Why is it named Childrens rhymes?
    MOD MESSAGE
Presumably because it is to tell children not to give up hope.

This poem is amazing! My good old bud langston directly addresses the ideas of jealousy between Siberia and Hungary and i just have never been so taken aback by his comments. Langston, you are my hero

Madiba has taught the folks in SA that that story is all too common, and that any folks can get past that - with poetry like this there is always hope to move forward into peace and prosperity - FOR ALL! We all need to keep our eye on the goal, regardless of skin color. May take time - but with poetry like this, the author's brilliant!!!

Such a talented man, I take mild issue with what chromgirl said, I like being white, yes white people have done bad things so have a lot of folks. In any case discrimination is always foolish, also like most foolish things its unbeatable, SOMEONE will always be discriminated against, thus is life.

I hope I live to see a black president. I think the chances of it happening in the next 15/20 years are better than they ever have been.

racism is dumb, and you're right, there ARE people in today's world who discriminate, and they're dumb too. just the notion that people are better or worse based on the color of their skin is stupid. i feel so bad for all the non-white people because of the stupid shit they have to go through, from paying higher prices for cars, or having to watch a taxi drive past them to the next white guy in line. i just wish i could go up to those haters and give them an eye-opener. something to wake them up... racism is DUMB!!!

I like this, although it's very sad. Made me think of Martin Luther King Jr too. That's always good. I like the name of this too, very ironic in it's truest form.

    way good

very true. very well written too. If I'm forced to say the pledge, I have my own words to go to it... and it ends, with: "Liberty and Justice for all who can afford it" which are the damn white stereotypes. Okay, so I kinna fit the stereotype if you are talking about physical apperance... but other than that, I'm totally not white. If that makes any sense at all. lol, anyways, nice write. keep at it.
    Peace and Love,

If you do return to this site, I really hope you become a member. I am researching to find the copyright date for you. I saw one link that mentioned 1921. Just one! I will continue to search. I am curious as well.
