Silver bark of beech, and sallow
Bark of yellow birch and yellow
Twig of willow.
Stripe of green in moosewood maple,
Colour seen in leaf of apple,
Bark of popple.
Wood of popple pale as moonbeam,
Wood of oak for yoke and barn-beam,
Wood of hornbeam.
Silver bark of beech, and hollow
Stem of elder, tall and yellow
Twig of willow.

Rhythm
From guest Pat (contact)
I like this poem for its rhythm. It sounds like a witch's incantation when read out loud. -
incredible
From guest Caitlyn (contact)
This is one of the poems I studied in a college course and it is incredible. I absolutely love this poem. I never really liked poetry until I took this class and now I know whats really out there, what I have been missing this whole time. This is one of my favorite poems by Millay. -
i really like the descrpitions used in this poem, to the rhyme seems a little off, maybe in just not pronounsing the words in the right rhyming content, the thoughts are wonderful that have been used in this poem, ~Amy

I would tend to agree with Amy on this. The poem is good to read as its words create a fine picture but the rhymes are more eye-rhymes than true sounding rhymes (unless the Maine accent is markedly different).
