Moonlight, the stars and the wind,
By placing them in front
And drinking the honey thereof-
A poetic frenzy seizes us;
That atomic thing called Mind-
We shall let it roam free.
Should one wonder at the bee that sings
While imbedded in a tasty fruit?
Oh, Mind! Go hence to join
The jewel of stars.

Who is the translator of this piece, and what is the original in Thamizh called? -
right, I'm afraid that's unlikely as Bharati died in 1921.
Hopefully the Old Poetry Team will post more of Bharati's work for us to enjoy though
-
Quite a deep poem
I liked the nocturnal imagery here

the poem is fantasttic

This is a poem which has obviously been commented on before, so it must be popular among the masses.
"A poetic frenzy siezes us;
Te atomic thing called Mind
We shall let it roam free..."
Not only the rich discriptions, but the quaint touch of philosophy adds a unique flavor to this poem. Quite delightful and dreamy. -

i like the word atomic...but this is a bit to earthy for me. one of the best poems i've read in a while but...just not my type of poem hehe i get bored with it too easily. says a lot in so little words though and the words were chosen very well and they suit the poem.

That's so beautiful. I feel like it's just oozing sweetness. Lines like this:
A poetic frenzy seizes us;
That atomic thing called Mind-
Are very strong and stand out a lot from the delicious descriptions that frame them. -
Good Write!
This is great, i like the ending of this poem...
Oh, Mind! Go hence to join
The jewel of stars.
The words in here is very deep, but i can relate...

Wonder free and fancy care dare to let mind free
if but I can conjure thus from what then can I see?
Oh to tarry on the land carries one not far
but to dance among the stars for wonderment they are -
I struggle with this poem here, it seems to be so random...but then again isn't that how the mind works...ah I think I am beginning to see...like those 3d pics that you have to look at out of focus so you can see the picture immerge!!! Smiles...Darianna x

This poem appears to be carryin some significant message but i cant help but think that the delivery could have been more effective
-
honestly, i didnt think it was all that wonderfully written. the topic was tough for me to get a handle on and not simply because of abstraction. it seemed to me more of a misdirected or unleashed sort of wandering. which is not to say it was HORRID. but also not fantastic.

mind travel...to the jewel of the stars. Sometimes it feels like my poetry takes me there. Way away from myself. Cool-ness piece.

"A poetic frenzy seizes us"
that is an amazing line.
I love people who can make a great point in such a short space. Short poems are what this world needs more of :-)
Sometimes though it's very hard to not try and cram too much into the little space provided and I'm still debating on whether or not you did that. -
Hmmm...
Methinks this doth reek of too much imagery.

lol
seriously though.
nothign against the poem in and of itself
just wasnt' my thing. -
It says it's a requirement
to comment on a poem
so I shall
It seems to have no structure
that's probably because it's translted
from Mandrin
It's a nice poem -
Thought provoking. Very interesting. I enjoyed it very much.

This was very good.
I liked the wording alot, and
how free it was. It went from
one subject to the next and back
again. Almost like it whisked you
away with it. Very creative.
Come bye and check out my work sometime
I would love to see what you think! ~Jess

Atomic thing called Mind?
I'm sold, I love that word called Atomic
-
i liked this...i kind of felt that it went off track from the stars, but the mind being set free let me in on some more of the thought behind this....i'm not sure really what to think of this, all i know is i've left with some more thought...i like it...
peace

Lovely poem, I like the way it is abstract and still about
something so concrete as nature and the pleasures therein. -

Dusky lady caught in lunar muse,
Swept away on a pensive breeze,
Mind send forth to contemplate life's ruse,
Thoughts caught here for eternity.
