Busy, curious, thirsty Fly,
Gently drink, and drink as I;
Freely welcome to my Cup,
Could'st thou sip, and sip it up;
Make the most of Life you may,
Life is short and wears away.
Just alike, both mine and thine,
Hasten quick to their Decline;
Thine's a Summer, mine's no more,
Though repeated to threescore;
Threescore Summers when they're gone,
Will appear as short as one.

My how the time does....fly. hehehee .
I do believe this was wonderfully stated. I love the analogy made here. The fact that no matter who or what we are, there are still common threads amongst us. -
Lovely flow and rhythm to this poem. The content is also very intreguing, and it is true that Life is too short. This is a truely beautiful poem, with a wonderful message.

ahhhhh, this is quite true. the passage of time is a strange thing. having children, i KNOW that the years slip so quickly and you begin to forget so fast. so it IS important to "drink up" and ENJOY the moment.
