i like my body when it is with your
body. It is so quite new a thing.
Muscles better and nerves more.
i like your body. i like what it does,
i like its hows. i like to feel the spine
of your body and its bones, and the trembling
-firm-smooth ness and which i will
again and again and again
kiss, i like kissing this and that of you,
i like, slowly stroking the, shocking fuzz
of your electric fur, and what-is-it comes
over parting flesh… And eyes big love-crumbs,
and possibly i like the thrill
of under me you so quite new
body. It is so quite new a thing.
Muscles better and nerves more.
i like your body. i like what it does,
i like its hows. i like to feel the spine
of your body and its bones, and the trembling
-firm-smooth ness and which i will
again and again and again
kiss, i like kissing this and that of you,
i like, slowly stroking the, shocking fuzz
of your electric fur, and what-is-it comes
over parting flesh… And eyes big love-crumbs,
and possibly i like the thrill
of under me you so quite new

to the french man below
I think if you are french, you should understand when e.e. talks about his sexual member as what-is-it..ha! And since french folks love food, you should also get the analogy he uses about eyes like big love-crumbs...so sexy! -
i like my body when it is with your
e.e. cummings was able to write about our sexuality in a way that to me is amazing...in it's simplicity and in it's wonderful celebration of this important side of life...we all need the healing touch of a healthy sex life! -

Breathe Taking
This poem makes me think of the poem by Nizar Qabbani called Words. Nizar wrote about words that overturn a woman’s history and makes her a woman in seconds. Personally the words of this poem by e. e Cummings, are the words that I would like to hear whilst dancing before I return to my table with nothing but words. -
hhhhhhhh...fffffffffhhhhhhhh
I like the thrill of the poem. -
This has to be my favorite poem by e e cummings.

I Love this poem
When I first stared reading his poetry, I was a senior in highschool, and he has all the rage. This is simply a pure poem of him enjoying the feeling of woman's body under his.I really don't think there is too much to analize here. This was the first of his poems that I ever memorized. Considering it is classified under eroitca, it is erotica so lovingly and beautifully displayed.
I think this poem is an excellent example of beautiful metaphors , and the love of feeling and sensing what is beneath him.

Cummings at his best, making words we know well do something different and unexpected.

Wow! I really love this very much! It has a very underspoken quality about it and of course it is quite steamy with the emotional affects of the words rather than a shock effect. It's great!
-
This poem is rife with imagery. The way that cummings attempts to put his feelings of love and lust into simple words ("Muscles better and nerves more") is so candid and loving--I like this )first one of cummings I've commented on)

I have no idea why but this poem is also one of my favorites... it's beautiful and sexual all at the same time... erotic and playful and still almost thoughtful... E.E. Cummings was a very odd mixture of man, based on his poetry alone.
