on Verse by Nizar Qabbani, on April 25This is a wonderful poem, clear-seeing and willing to accept the blame for what has happened to his country because men like him who knew what was needed did nothing. The final stanza is beautiful /spring rain, corn ears of the future/ calls to mind such fertile richness as well as the metaphorical food for the future generations. I liked this very much.

on Behind The Gates Of The Wealthy by Du Fu, on April 21Amazing how this Chinese poet could write this poem in 775 when he died in 770.
OOPS!
Obviously a typo slipped in here. We've removed the date until we can find the real one! MOD TEAM -
on This Is Just To Say by William Carlos Williams, on April 16For me, this poem demonstrates a long-term intimacy with the addressee. He is not sorry, and doesn't say he is. He also knows that the plums were probably being saved for his breakfast. He is acknowledging that he has disrupted a minor household routine, and the poem/note is an indication of his warm regard and appreciation.
