Wow...what a strange effect. At the surface, it's humorous and very relevant to the selfless act of self-preservation.

On the deeper point, we have a subject that can relate to most life situations...the essense of "Fight or Flight" and "Kill or Be Killed"

Very enterestating...yes, blend of the words entertaining and interesting.

    Whatever..

I am lost and highly confused...maybe this author was a highly-regarded poet in his time, but in mine, I'm simply lost. I think, if given a preface of his works, a summary of his skills and what he preferred to write about, perhaps I would better understand this, and, in essense, him.

    Oh well...

Uh, interesting, but I'm not sure what the author's subject is about. Was he writing in order to have a deeper, underlying meaning in his lines, or was he being surface, describing his location ad nauseaum? Whatever the case, the style was good, and his writing was clear (and that should be an example for the writers at AllPoetry, hint-hint).

If Von's comment is accurate, that would make Wright's poem very interesting. So many writers and poets have written works that are metaphorical, rather than based on something factual and deeper than "My life stinks" or "I Found (or Lost) My Love" yadda yadda yadda.

Anyway, this was a good poem, and I don't believe I've read Wright before, so that was nice.
