  • O let thy children lean aslant
    Against the tender mother’s knee,
And gaze into her face, and want
To know what magic there can be

These last few lines really caught my attention. The old fanshioned languag sort of made it hard to read for me at first but after a couple of reads I really enjoyed the flow and rhythm

  • The imagery in this is rather bleak: Death just standing by sharpening his scythe and biding his time to take us all oneday. Its kind of a creepy way to think of it but it is true in a sense.

  • This is really intense. There is such longing and anguish, it seems almost painful. The emotion in this is almost palpable.

What time the meanest brick and stone
Take on a beauty not their own,
And past the flaw of builded wood
Shines the intention whole and good

This is really amazing, the imagery is so inspiring, unlike anything i've seen in a long time. I have to agree, this is a really passionate poem. She uses a simple aa bb cc... rhyme scheme which i usually get bored with but in this poem, with such great images the flow is powerful and moving.
