  • on A Study in the 'Nood' by Henry Lawson, on June 28, 2004
This is both funny and sad at the same time. I see that it was written in 1910 but believe that the same thing could still happen today, more's the pity.

  • on The Pig by Roald Dahl, on May 27, 2004
I've always liked Dahl as well. Nice to see something I'd not seen before. Pigs Rule!!!

  • on Butterfly Laughter by Katherine Mansfield, on April 2, 2004
Great to see our famous writer featured here.
This poem also brings back memories of my younger sister's plate that had a picture of a clown pulling along a toy duck on wheels. It even had a poem to go with it -
    "Here comes Monty Duck
    And his funny master
    With a quack, quack, quack,
    He comes waddling after."

I'm surprised that I can still remember this after more than 50 yrs

  • on Topsy-Turvy World by William Brighty Rands, on March 22, 2004
A lively rhythmic piece that would appeal to children. I especially like the chorus of mixed up nursery rhymes.
