on The Magyar Fallow by Endre Ady, on February 14This poem is a reflection of Ady's frustration with Hungary. The fallow is a symbol for the country - lagging behind its own potential. The sacred soil and the scent of long dead flowers are the reminders of once glorious days.
Ady was often criticized of the nature of his so called patriotic poems. This was one of the reason, he left the country and moved to Paris.

The Hungarian National Anthem is written by Ferenc Kolcsey and its called Himnusz (what means Anthem). Another poem what enjoys almost the same status as the Himnusz is the Szozat (Appeal or Summons) by Mihaly Vorosmarty.
