  • Amazing how far poetry has come... or how far it has come away from. Such items can only be admired. And, yet... this is only the introduction? wow.

  • This is one of those poems I have read so many times and still come back to as though it was the first. This piece of work and its underlying meaning has had so many uses/interpretations throughout the years. Amazing how so many continue to learn from it. Although I had read this in prior times, it has been one of the more popular pieces to show up in pop culture movies such as, "Dangerous Minds," "Rennaissance Man" sp?, and "Back to School"... The only sadness of that is, many times its meaning for which Thomas intended is lost at times by being read versus listened to and really heard with its passion.

Thanks so much for showing this. Again, I loved it as much as the first time.

  • on The Gecko by Leon Gellert, on May 8, 2003
This was entirely cute in its concept in rhyme sequence. Rhymes normally hold little appeal to me, but this was the perfect theme for one. Perhaps it brings out the cute character all the more in your writing style/structure. I have the image of the gecko being the little man being sure to take care in his world with cool sense of quirky charm. Yeah, that's it... quirky charm. I think that's how I can best say I perceived this poem.

  • wonderful

So completely wonderful a piece. It's not often in today's world we say such a lovely use of words linked to evoke such emotions. Tremendous grasp and use of the english language! My endeavors in writing don't seem to come close to touching the edges of what I've just read.
